About Us

Starting with just one pupil in 1998, the Cheryl Rowlands School Of Drama has grown rapidly over the years and to date we have had hundreds of pupils registered with us.  We have an excellent reputation both locally and nationally, and all our staff have enhanced DBS checks in place.

As the school continues to grow, we aim to maintain the high quality of our summer productions, despite inevitably increasing costs. In the present economic climate, we have fought hard to maintain our superb, value for money classes whilst keeping costs and fees down and yet maintaining our usual high standards.

At the Cheryl Rowlands School of Drama, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide a wide variety of performing experiences for our pupils. With 20 years experience in the business, we have proven time and again that any child can develop confidence on stage and in their daily lives, if only given the opportunity

OUR CLASSES

Our Drama classes have the emphasis placed on fun, enthusiasm and teamwork, and it is effort and perseverance, rather than a natural talent for stage work that are rewarded. Any child who wishes to tread the boards is welcome to join our classes. There is no audition process – all are welcome regardless of ability. The only requirement is that pupils are keen, hard-working and committed to their drama activities.

Our Stars Class, for children aged 3-5 years, helps to build the basic skills for drama work and everyday life through music, movement and co-ordination. Pupils take part in a range of activities from Musical Instrument Time to dancing with Winnie the Pooh! As well as their own, age specific activities, pupils in our Stars Class work on song and dance routines with our older pupils and are included in our Annual Summer Showcase.

The Stars Class at the Cheryl Rowlands School of Drama provides the perfect opportunity for your child to make new friends, develop their imagination and build their confidence in a safe and happy environment.

For children aged 6-12, our Diamonds Class expands on the drama skills, co-ordination and movement that is taught in our younger classes. Team-building, group work and improvisation skills are taught alongside traditional skills of dancing, singing and acting. Our older pupils work towards our Summer Showcase, as well as Winter Variety Shows, local performance evenings and carnivals.
