CHERYL ROWLANDS SCHOOL OF DRAMA

“Winners never quit, Quitters never win”

Giving your child the best possible start, no matter what their dramatic ability, by building confidence and inspiring teamwork.

Welcome to the Cheryl Rowlands School of Drama!

The Cheryl Rowlands School of Drama is a locally run, non-franchised drama school for 3-12 year olds which has been providing non-exclusive, affordable Drama Classes to children of all abilities since 1998. Our classes are open to any child who wishes to have the opportunity to tread the boards, and over the years we have successfully proven that even the shyest of children, regardless of their theatrical ability, can develop confidence before an audience or in their daily lives if they are simply given the opportunity to develop their creativity.

Each July we produce an action-packed Summer Show at Portishead's Somerset Hall - over the last 20 years our shows have become more ambitious, and we pride ourselves on delivering fantastic value for money for parents and pupils, whilst maintaining our high standards of production.

The ethos of the Cheryl Rowlands School of Drama is that every child is welcome, no matter what their ability – there is no audition process, the only requirements being that pupils are committed and hard-working.  Experience has proved that even the shyest of children can stand on a stage in front of an audience and act, sing or dance with confidence if they are simply given the opportunity, and parents have noticed a pleasing rise in the confidence of their children after being with us.

Absolutely no-one is left out, and for those pupils who show a flair for professional work, we run our own Theatre Agency. We have built a superb reputation with Production companies across the UK and have had successes in professional television and theatre shows with pupils auditioning for a wide variety of productions such as Casualty, Skins, Mistresses, Being Human, Broadchurch, The Bristol Job, Intergalactic Patrick, Virgin Mobile advertising campaigns, The Wizard of Oz, Snow White, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.  We have been contacted by the BBC and asked to put pupils forward for the making of the opening titles for a new Saturday morning children’s magazine programme entitled “ROAR!”.  Other local independent films that we have been involved in are Runland, Drew Taylor’s Story and Stigma.

This is our funding page for our production of "Randall & Hopkirk Deceased".  This screenplay sequel has been written by our Principal, Cheryl Rowlands, and has the full support and endorsement of original 1968 cast member, Kenneth Cope (Marty Hopkirk), who is due to revise his role in a cameo appearance.  Production is due to take place over the next few months produced by professional author and photographer, Bob Rocca.
